Woody Harrelson (No Country for Old Men), Emma Stone (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past), and Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland) star in Zombieland, a hororr/comedy that takes place in a world overrun by zombies. Now, there’s this debate over how fast zombies should move. George Romero’s zombies always move at a snail’s pace, Zack Snyder’s 2004 Dawn of the Dead zombies could run. In most cases, a zombie’s speed depends on how he/she became a zombie. If they’re truly the undead (like Romero’s), they have jerky movements and move slow. If they’ve been changed into a zombie because of a virus or bacteria, then all bets are off. These guys can move as fast – or faster – than a normal human.

At Comic Con, Stone explained why the zombies in Zombieland fall into the latter category: “Our zombies are very fast-moving. They’re like velociraptors and they’re alive. They just have this disease so they’re not your traditional like walking dead zombie. I got to tell you, just from experience, the only experience I’ve had are these fast-moving ones and man they are scary. They are. When there’s like 30 people dressed as bloody, horrifying zombies going like this [jerking around] and running after you, it’s terrifying.”
