A new trailer for “The Croods” has just been released! The film will be out in theaters on March 22, 2013.
In addition to recasting a brand-new web slinger for The Amazing Spider-Man, it was crucial that newcomer Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker had the proper chemistry with Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy. “She came in and she was like a shot of espresso,” says Andrew. “She’s incredibly energetic and enthusiastic and she had this sense of play and fun which was incredibly exciting.”
Director Marc Webb, whose previous big-screen foray was the romantic (500) Days of Summer, explains, “When we tested them, there was fireworks. She could take on Andrew’s improvisation and witticisms and one-up him. I mean, it was amazing to see them go back and forth. … It became an obvious combination, because that’s what people are there for.”
And Emma adds, “Marc Webb’s biggest goal has been working out that relationship, and making sure it feels authentic, and he kind of brings it all back down to earth, even though we’re operating in a superhero universe. It’s certainly important to Andrew and I that this relationship would exist in a world of no superheroes.”
The Amazing Spider-Man Blu-ray, featuring a very cool second-screen app with multiple interactive features, is out Friday.

For better or worse, the family road trip is an institution that is as old as time. So it’s fitting that The Croods, the latest animated adventure from DreamWorks, goes back to the land before time to tell the tale of a family of Neanderthals forced to leave the comfort of their cramped but safe cave behind and set forth to places unknown.
Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon) and Kirk De Micco (Space Chimps) wrote and directed the prehistoric comedy, which boasts a voice cast that includes Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman. We got a peek at The Croods’ clan encountering the brave new world that lies ahead of them in the film’s first poster, and now we can see this cave-dwelling family in action in the feature’s first trailer.
“The Croods” is coming to theaters in 3d on March 22nd, 2013.
