Today I have made a complete revamp of the Press Archive here at Emma Stone Connection, to make it easier for you to find both articles, as well as magazine scans in the Photo Gallery. The idea for the organization came from my friend Frederik of Simply Streep. I will continue to work on the new archive, both article transcripts and new/old scans will be added in the near future. Hope you all like the change, now go check out the Press Archive!
As you all probably know, Emma Stone recently received her first Oscar-nomination for her phenomenal portrayal of the troubled Sam in Birdman. We were missing many production stills and posters from the film in our photo gallery, so I decided to add them to the albums. 8 stills, 3 posters and 2 on-set pictures can now be seen in the gallery. I have also added the information page to our filmography. Once again, big congratulations to Emma for the well-deserved nomination!
Just as promised, here are the scans from Emma Stone’s cover-story for Australian magazine Cleo! In the very interesting interview, Emma talks about her childhood, the start of her career, what she does on her free time, and more. Be sure to check out the scans right away. Since these are made for Emma Stone Connection, please do credit our site (www.emma-stone.org) if posted elsewhere. Thanks!
On January 18, Emma Stone and Cabaret co-star were photographed backstage at Queen of the Night in New York City. The duo delivered various poses with a leopard statue behind the stage. 11 high-quality pictures have been added to our photo gallery.
Another magazine cover for Emma! She’s on the front page of the Australian magazine Cleo‘s February issue. In the new interview, she talks about her childhood, starring in The Amazing Spider-Man, and she even shares some thoughts on boyfriend Andrew Garfield! Read the very interesting article in our press archive, and stay tuned for scans from the magazine.
What is it that you especially enjoy about all the success you’ve had in Hollywood?
“I really appreciate that I can stay in villas during shoots and that I can afford to live in New York – despite the horrendous rents. And that I can travel first class. I don’t want to boast about it, but it does make things easier!”
What do you especially like about your boyfriend, Andrew Garfield?
“There’s so much I admire about Andrew, I wouldn’t know where to start – and can’t reveal too much about him. Apart from anything else, he’s the best-prepared actor I’ve ever worked with and he can transform completely into his role. That alone totally fascinates and inspires me. I learn a lot from him!”
In related news, I have added scans from W Magazine to our photo gallery. View the pics here.
On the day of the Oscar nominations announcement, Emma Stone was once again in New York City to perform on stage in Cabaret. After the show, she celebrated the Best Supporting Actress-nomination with her castmates and friends. Emma’s co-star Alan Cumming tweeted a picture from the celebrations, see the fun pic below:

For today’s update, I have added hundreds of high-definition screen captures from two movies that we were misssing in the photo gallery – Crazy, Stupid, Love and Friends with Benefits. Emma played Hanna and Kayla, respectively, in the romantic movies, both released back in the Summer of 2011.
As mentioned in the previous post, Emma Stone received her first Academy Award nomination earlier this morning(!!). All in all, Birdman earned a total of 9 – that’s NINE – nominations, including Best Supporting Actress (Stone), Best Actor (Michael Keaton), Best Supporting Actor (Edward Norton), Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and more. Here’s what Emma had to say about this great moment:
“Well, this is surreal. I am completely knocked out. Thank you to the Academy for this incredible honor. I am very proud and lucky to be a part of Birdman and can’t believe it came to this. I am so f***ing excited. Are you allowed to say f*** when you’re making a statement for the Oscars? I’m just really f***ing excited.”
