Still without a title, Cameron Crowe’s untitled next project has today added Jay Baruchel to its ensemble cast. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the This is the End star will join Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Alec Baldwin and Danny McBride in the Hawaii-set romantic adventure.
The film is said to feature Cooper as a Hawaii-based defense contractor who has to work with an Air Force pilot (stone) to stop the launch of a weapons satellite. In the process, the pair begin to fall for one another as they’re forced to contend with supernatural island magic and a talking computer.
Baruchel, who previously appeared in Crowe’s Almost Famous, can be seen coming up in Jose Padilha’s RoboCop and Dean DeBlois’ animated sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2. He’ll be playing Cooper’s character’s brother in the new Crowe film.
While David Yates’ remake of TARZAN shut down their production offices earlier this year, it seems that some progress is being made to try the project again in 2014. Variety report that pending the greenlight from the studio, Yates’ movie could begin production next summer for a release in an incredibly crowded 2015.
The remake of the Edgar Rice Burroughs pulp novels was set to be a traditional take on the classic Ape-man story and characters, but tell an original tale. TRUE BLOOD’s Alexander Skarsgard was already selected to play the title role and Jessica Chastain was being eyed for the role of Jane. Both Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx were being looked at for additional roles, but that may be changing with this new start. It appears that Emma Stone is now being looked at in place of Chastain and Christoph Waltz for the role of the villain that was associated with Samuel L. Jackson.
Here’s the plot as we know it for the new TARZAN:
Years after he’s re-assimilated into society, [John Clayton III, a.k.a. Tarzan] is asked by Queen Victoria to investigate the goings-on in the Congo. Tarzan teams with an ex-mercenary named George Washington Williams to save the Congo from a fierce warlord who controls a massive diamond mine.
Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone are fully set to reprise their voice roles in DreamWorks Animation’s forthcoming sequel to their 2013 box office hit, The Croods. Directors Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco confirmed the news this morning to ComingSoon.net during an interview to promote the home video release of the original. With a worldwide gross of more than $585 million, The Croods also stars Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman and follows the adventures of a primitive family learning to survive in a fantastic (but dangerous) stone age world.
“There’s not much to talk about yet,” says Sanders of the next adventure, “because we’ve got a big lump of clay and we’re forming it as we speak.”
What is certain, however, is that both men aim to make the sequel to The Croods every bit as colorful as the original.
“[There will be] lots of good creatures,” DeMicco promises. “We’ve got creatures that never got into the first movie. We’re going to take a very, very close look at those.”
Check back soon for the full interview and catch The Croods on DVD and Blu-ray October 1st.

Andrew Garfield won’t discuss his love life with Emma Stone, but he’s happy to praise her talents as an actress! While promoting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in late July at Comic-Con in San Diego, Calif., the 28-year-old actor politely declined to answer a question about the redheaded beauty.
“How do you like working with Emma Stone, and is there a danger of taking work home?” an Associated Press reported asked. Garfield quipped, “Well, you’re assuming something there, which I will not be commenting about.” He then went on to only discuss what it’s like to work with the 24-year-old professionally. “I love it. She’s a great gal, and, as we all know, a singular talent, like a completely unique, singular talent. She just was born like a purebred, in terms of you just say ‘go’ and she goes. It’s infuriating because I can’t keep up with it. So it’s beautiful to work with such an incredibly talented and wonderful person.”
The pair may keep their relationship private now, but the Social Network actor did reveal how he fell for The Help actress during a chat with MTV News in June 2012. “We got on really well as people, in between [takes],” the actor said about meeting Stone during Amazing Spider-Man auditions. “That was the fun stuff: In between, we’d just mess around and I felt, ‘Ah, this is different.’ I wasn’t really aware of what was happening in the screen test. She keeps you on your toes and that wakes you up. That was the beginning.” Indeed, although a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly that the couple are in “no rush to get engaged,” the pair have been living in New York together since April 2012.
