Emma Stone has arrived on the Screen Actors Guild Awards’ red carpet – looking absolutely stunning in a dress by Dior Couture. As mentioned before, Emma’s nominated in the Best Supporting Actress-category for her performance in Birdman. Pictures from the event will be added to the photo gallery throughout the evening. What do you think of Emma’s look tonight?
To make sure we’re up-to-date and prepared for all the red carpets that are still to come this year (Emma will attend the SAG Awards tonight!), I have added all the event-pictures we were missing from 2014 to the photo gallery. These include the worldwide promo tour for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Emma attending the MET Gala, various volunteer-events, as well as promoting Magic in the Moonlight and Birdman at film festivals and screenings. Over 3,500 new pictures have been added, simply click on the previews below to check out all the new additions in the photo gallery.
Also, keep checking back to Emma Stone Connection for all the latest from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Emma is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Sam in Birdman. Good luck tonight, Emma!
Last night, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) walked home with the award for Best Picture at the Producer’s Guild of America Awards. The guild and Oscars have agreed on 18 of the most recent 24 Best Picture champs, including the last seven in a row. With Boyhood being the current front runner for the Best Picture-Oscar, this should be an interesting test of the PGA predicting the Academy Award-winner. Congratulations to Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu and the team behind Birdman for the well-deserved win!
In related news, the Screen Actors Guild Awards are taking place tonight – with Emma Stone confirmed to attend! Not only will she be presenting on stage (presumably the Best Ensemble-nomination for Birdman), but she’s also nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Fingers crossed for Emma to surprise and take home the prize. Emma Stone Connection will be updating live with first pictures and more. Keep checking back for that.
Yesterday, The New York Times released a new interview with Emma Stone. The piece was done alongside Oscar-nominated actor Eddie Redmayne during a lunch in the theater district recently. I have added outtakes from the session to our photo archive, as well as the entire interview to our press archive. It’s a very interesting and entertaining read, so you should definitely check it out. Enjoy!
Emma Stone was delighted to grant Eddie Redmayne a retroactive wish on his birthday candle, since he forgot to make one when he blew it out.
“Is that allowed?” the actor asked, 33 to the day, a recent Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee as best actor for his portrayal of the physicist Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything.” He won a Tony Award in 2010 as best featured actor in the Broadway play “Red.”
“Absolutely!” declared Ms. Stone, 26, a film actress best known for her roles in “Easy A” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise. She made her Broadway debut last year in “Cabaret,” in which she continues through Feb. 15, and is also nominated for an Oscar as best supporting actress in “Birdman.”
But she drew the line when Mr. Redmayne floated the idea of a second wish.
“You can’t make them all day,” she said.
Over a late lunch at Angus’ Cafe Bistro — a croque-monsieur for Mr. Redmayne and truffle fries (“without the truffle, please”) for Ms. Stone — the pair discussed their childhood ambitions, propensity to worry and the young actor’s life.
Today I have made a complete revamp of the Press Archive here at Emma Stone Connection, to make it easier for you to find both articles, as well as magazine scans in the Photo Gallery. The idea for the organization came from my friend Frederik of Simply Streep. I will continue to work on the new archive, both article transcripts and new/old scans will be added in the near future. Hope you all like the change, now go check out the Press Archive!
As you all probably know, Emma Stone recently received her first Oscar-nomination for her phenomenal portrayal of the troubled Sam in Birdman. We were missing many production stills and posters from the film in our photo gallery, so I decided to add them to the albums. 8 stills, 3 posters and 2 on-set pictures can now be seen in the gallery. I have also added the information page to our filmography. Once again, big congratulations to Emma for the well-deserved nomination!
Just as promised, here are the scans from Emma Stone’s cover-story for Australian magazine Cleo! In the very interesting interview, Emma talks about her childhood, the start of her career, what she does on her free time, and more. Be sure to check out the scans right away. Since these are made for Emma Stone Connection, please do credit our site (www.emma-stone.org) if posted elsewhere. Thanks!
On January 18, Emma Stone and Cabaret co-star were photographed backstage at Queen of the Night in New York City. The duo delivered various poses with a leopard statue behind the stage. 11 high-quality pictures have been added to our photo gallery.
